You simply have to go....

I cannot describe it in words - sorry but there are no words to explain the physical and emotional journey that we had... it was such a special trip in all ways.

Nas - thank you for the invitation and for simply being such a special friend. Our mountain experience will be with us forever...

Being silly...

Nepal has the most incredible farm / agricultural land in that the hillsides are cut into terraces, the picture below shows the terraces in sunshine and iun hail... yep we got rained on every day pretty much but on the first day we got caught in a downpour of hailstones... not funny cos they hurt and my legs had bruises on them for the next 10 days!!

Mountains at sunrise... we got up one morning early on at 5am and we hiked up to the top of Poon Hill (3200m) to watch the sunrise... WOW... after this we were super excited about getting to the mountains....

Arriving at Annapurna Base Camp! WOW Wow Wow...

We only had a 2 hour walk from Machhupachare Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp but it was the most spectacular walk that I have ever done... I could've spent all day doing it...

We made it.... 4130m at Annapurna Base Camp! What an incredible journey we had.... nas and I were both moved to tears at the top it was simply breathtaking up there!

We left Annapurna and headed down hill... very sadly although the views were still spectacular

There was one up hill that Nas decided we should test our heart and lungs out on.... 350m up and all 2500 steps! Ouch!!
The trek was over on Friday night and we all had a beer or 3 to celebrate... amazing how drunk you get on 3 beers when you've barely drunk anything but hot lemon and water for 2 weeks!

Back in Kathmandu on Sunday we got to take a small flight to see a really big mountain... yep Everest... here it is! Amazing! But not as special as Fish Tail or Annapurna... they are our mountains that we spent hours with and they touched us in a very special way...

The rest of Sunday was spent doing some material and pashmina shopping in town and generally hanging out with the locals on what was their New Year's day!

So there you have it... some highlights.... it was simply an incredible incredible trip...... Indescribable in so many ways really....
