A darn good ski!

Meg and I needed a speed weekend on the slopes so Friday afternoon I left the office at 3pm! Nice!! Rob (work colleague) had laughed at me turning up to work with my back pack and snow bunny jacket on and said that it was pretty obvious work was really an inconvenience for me today!! Yep it was! I was REALLY excited about hitting the slopes and going for it!! Meg is quicker than me so I knew I was going to have my work cut out!

We were heading up to Killington (www.killington.com) which is meant to be the best resort in New England if you listen to the locals! Unfortunately it took 4 1/2 hours to get there rather than the 3hours it was meant to take but hey ho we had music and good chats so we were fine! After a quick supper we headed back to our Inn and crashed out so we could hit the slopes early!

Saturday morning we were on the slopes at 8.30am and it felt amazing!! Well until we got half way down our first run... called Jug.... it was a mogul run... not nice for our first run!!! Certainly warmed us up though!!

After we had found some slightly kinder warm up runs and found our speed skiing legs we then headed back into the bumps! Nice!! We found a run called Superstar which was fast and alot of fun especially when we found the bumps to the side of it... and then we found Ovation and that had some very fragrant baby pine trees that Meg got up close and personal with... but she came out smiling so all was well!!

Here are some pics!! The trees were all covered in snow but it was frozen snow - it made them look like coral.... very cool!!

Happy Girlies!!

So here's the BIG news flash!! I like bumps!!!! They are a lot of fun!!

The ride back tonight was a shocker as it was snowing so we had to take it very slowly but it was really worth the long drives to have some great skiing!! We tried to stop at the Simon Pearce restaurant but they were shut so we went to a local deli instead and snacked on the groceries we'd bought at the pumpkin store... remember that one Mum!!!

Thanks Meg for a FAB day! Bring on Vail!!! Thank goodness we've got a month to hit the gym and prep our bodies for 4 days hard core skiing!!
Oh yeah by the way - legs are pretty sore today but in a good way!!
