A weekend skiing with old and new friends

Last weekend Tony came to visit. Who's Tony?? Well I went to university with Tony, he was in the year above me but friends with friends of mine, we have since been on big group holidays together skiing but we hadn't seen each other for nearly 6 years but then last summer he messaged me on skype and said he was living in New Jersey! We have tried to meet up a few times but this weekend we finally did!

Tony drove 5.5 hours to see me - now that's dedication hey... He arrived late Friday and we caught up over a bottle of red wine! Then Saturday morning we drove into New Hampshire and went skiing at Cannon! We were meeting some friends of mine there who had rented a house for us all.

We had a lovely ski and actually the weather was very kind to us only -1centigrade. It was so much fun to ski / ride with Tony again and chat and chat and chat.... ahhh the English banter.... what a pleasure!!

In the evening we set off and found the house with the help of the GPS but not so much Emma (sorry Em couldn't resist that - we will forget one day!!)

The house was amazing - such stunning views across the hills of New Hampshire but to be honest the fire on in the lounge and the BBQ cooking the meat feast we had for supper was an even better view! As the sign in the dining room said, Good friends, Good Food, Good Times!! So true... Mili and Fernando our Argentinian friends had bought 11lbs of meet vut the Argentinian way and they cooked it withe style... oh my goodness I have never eaten such amazing meat... it was delicious and we ate so much - basically all night we ate red meat and drank red wine - no veg nothing just meat and wine!!

Sunday dawned and it was time to try and raise the still full stomachs from slumber.... we eventually left the house at 11am..... it was a slow slow start! We got to the slopes but to be honest we skied for only 90 mins - the change from he day before was incredible! The wind was horrific and we were so cold and windswept that it just wasn't fun Cherry pants (me!) and beige bomber (Tony) called it quits!

Sunday night I showed Tony round Boston - well we walked through town to the South End and got drunk (yes again!!) in the old Dish - now a cute Italian restaurant called Coppa! Yet again more banter, putting the world to rights and just having fun hanging out.

Monday morning Tony left and we both agreed that it had been a fun weekend and what a shame we hadn't seen each other in so long and what a shame it was that we didn't live closer to each other!
